Many people believe God is a spoilsport and that He doesn’t want to grant anyone joy or happiness on earth. You may believe that He wants you to check into a monastery and leave behind everything that is happy and exciting, to go into life being grim, serious, and even unfriendly. Read
what Luke 18: 29-30 tells you:
Truly I tell you, Jesus said to them, no one who has left home or wife or brothers or sisters or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age, and in the age to come eternal life– NIV
There are so many people who openly choose against God and live in opposition to Him while making no secret of it. God and his Father Heart play no role in their lives. For example, by swearing wildly, drinking and committing all kinds of other sins, they deceive themselves that they are happy and have no worries in life. They simply believe the lie that you can enjoy life without God. It stands to reason that it’s impossible to be honest with yourself and pretend that you’re extremely happy and full of joy, while you have the expectation of missing heaven with God. And yes, abundant life is not just meant for some or other time in future. It’s for now! It's for every day despite the pain and challenges of the world. Jesus is with you. He’s at your side - in your happiest joys and your most painful hurts.
Horace Bushnell said the following true words:
It doesn’t help chasing after joy, it’s something that comes to you naturally if you have gone to God with your whole life.
Know therefore that only a child of the Lord has reason to smile and jump up and down with joy. This life on earth shall pass and you’ll exchange it for a much better life with God - forever! So, do as 2 Corinthians 6: 2 tells you. Why delay any longer and believe the lies of the enemy. He robs you of great delight and much joy:
For he says: “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you. I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” – NIV
